Speaking engagements are an awesome opportunity to connect with people in way that is different than my counseling practice. It truly has been a grace and joy to have lectured in various parishes, dioceses, colleges and seminaries throughout the country. I have spoken to a variety of groups: young adults, college students, seminarians, married couples, and men. Below are some descriptions of my retreats and lectures.

Two retreats that I have developed:

Living the Gift of Marriage: This retreat helps couples to see the gift of their unique relationship and offers practicals ways of growing in spiritual, emotional, and physical intimacy.

Healthy Masculinity: This retreat is designed to help men better understand the psychology of masculinity and how to live out the masculine virtues.

This is a short list of my other presentations:

Breaking Free From Porn: This talk provides an integrated look at the problem of pornography and advice on how to break free.

Healing and Memory in Light of Divine Providence: A serious lecture of the gift of memory and entrusting every moment of life to God’s providence.

Family: The Key to the New Evangelization: This presentation focuses on the joys of family life and the ways that familial love witnesses God’s grace to our communities.

The Work and Leisure Challenge: In today’s age, we do not understand true leisure anymore, this talk can help you find balance again.

Understanding Your Calling: This presentation draws on my years of experience with seminarians and married couples to help you better understand how to discern a vocation.

Living with Mystery: A man’s take on loving his wife: As a husband and marriage counselor, I have learned a few lessons that I’m happy to share with other men.

Panel 3

I am a Catholic Christian husband and father, that’s my primary vocation and passion. I am happily married to my wife of 16 years, Kristin, and together we share the joy of parenting our four sons. For work, I have a private counseling practice in New Orleans, LA. I am also the Associate Director of Willwoods Faith and Marriage. At Willwoods, I offer lectures, retreats, contribute regularly to their blog, and host a bi-weekly podcast, Always Hope with Dr. Mario.

I enjoy writing and have delivered numerous lectures on the topics of married life, human sexuality, and Catholic integration into clinical practice. I have over ten years of counseling experience, where I have made a career of integrating the riches of our Catholic Faith with sound counseling practices.

In all of my various professional outlets, I try to bring hope to the real struggles of life. I’m happy to share what I have learned in order to help people make sense of their suffering.  With grace all things are possible (Matt 19:26).
